SDGs
Our key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
The United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) offer a shared framework for addressing global challenges. At Baum und Pferdgarten, we use the SDGs to guide reflection and improve how we communicate our role in a wider sustainability context.
While all 17 goals are important, we have identified four SDGs that are particularly relevant to the materials we use and the supply chains we rely on. Our work in these areas is a work in progress, and our aim is to make better decisions where we can have a clear and direct influence.
6: Clean water and Sanitation
Our products depend on materials and processes that can place stress on water resources. We are working to reduce this impact by choosing lower-impact materials and improving chemical management. Access to clean drinking water and sanitation is not a given in all parts of the supply chain, and we acknowledge our role in supporting better practices where needed.
10: Reduced Inequalities
We believe that fair working conditions and respect for human rights must be upheld across all levels of our supply chain. This includes ensuring that partners treat workers fairly, offer decent wages, and support equality regardless of background or identity. While we do not control every part of the chain, we aim to collaborate with partners who share these values and to strengthen our ability to verify working conditions over time.
12: Responsible Consumption & Production
The fashion industry has contributed to overproduction and waste. We are taking steps to make more responsible material choices and to improve the efficiency of our processes. While we cannot control how products are used, we share care guides to help customers extend the life of what they buy — a small but meaningful step toward reducing unnecessary waste.
15: Life on Land
Our products rely on natural resources, and we recognize the environmental pressures linked to sourcing materials. We are taking steps to support better land use by favouring certified materials, handling chemicals responsibly, and being mindful of the impact our supply chain may have on forests, biodiversity, and ecosystems.
